The Nano and Pico Characterization Lab (NPC) at CNSI provides access to an unprecedented collection of nano-scale surface analysis instrumentation in a single, multi-user facility for the visualization and analysis of surfaces, adsorbates, nanostructures and devices at the atomic, molecular and cellular scales. The NPC Team has over 40 years of collective experience in advanced instrumentation, with a specific focus on Scanning Probe methods. We offer introductory and advanced training in a vast array of AFM and SPM techniques that exploit near-field interactions to probe local properties. Users are able to easily access a wide array of leading edge metrology instruments in our self service facility which is open 24/7/365.

Training User training and assisted imaging services are provided by staff of the NPC Laboratory. Introductory and advanced training sessions in a vast array of SPM techniques are available to users and charged at a standard hourly rate for personnel time in addition to the usage rate for the instrument service used.

Assisted Imaging - Assisted imaging is provided to users who require substantial additional/ongoing support and is charged at a standard hourly rate for personnel time in addition to the usage rate for the instrument service used.

Sample Analysis In special cases where Users are interested solely in data acquisition and analysis without training and/or ongoing access to the facility, the NPC staff provides said service, charged at a standard hourly rate for personnel time in addition to the usage rate for the instrument service used.

Consulting Introductory consultation services for new users are generally provided at no-charge. In special cases where Users requests substantial ongoing consultation, analysis, or personnel time not linked to a given instrument service, consulting services are charged at a standard hourly rate.
